Our comprehension of the phenotypical and functional heterogeneity of human all-natural killer (NK) cells has significantly improved over the previous couple of decades. Analysis of individual NK cell clones has caused the original observation that distinct NK cell clones recognize different significant histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I specificities.
