Science based research is used as the basis for discussing implant design and biomaterials, along with the physiologic bone response to these materials. The second part of this book discusses the biomechanical properties which relate to the dental implant process. The pioneering stress theorem concepts postulated by Dr. Carl Misch are the basis for these chapters as the various force factors which dental implants are exposed to are presented.
